JEA Electric Equipment Inspection Project

Project Objective
JEA completed an inspection of the electric infrastructure that serves the area depicted in the map below. During the inspection, we assessed the physical condition of our electric equipment and identify obstructions (such as vegetation) that, if left unattended, could result in future unplanned power outages.
To complete this work, JEA used drone technology, which has been proven to reduce the inspection time by approximately 50%. We are partnering with PrecisionHawk®, a technology company that provides drone and remote sensing application and data processing services commonly used in the energy, agriculture and telecommunications industries.
The information gathered will be used to determine if future electric reliability improvements are needed in your area. Residents can expect to see drone activity in the areas depicted on the maps below. There will be no interruptions to your JEA service during this inspection.
