Kuralei Drive Sewer Improvement Project

Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA (Callaway Contracting, Inc.) replaced a portion of aging sanitary sewer main along Kuralei Drive between Mindanao Drive and Indies Drive East, and at the intersection of Kuralei Drive and Indies Drive East. These pipes had reached the end of their useful service lives and needed to be proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA sewer system in the area. Failures to sewer mains can potentially cause sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in the City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads and easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically will begin 2-3 weeks after the new sewer line has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
