Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2019-10-11
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. NOTE: In some circumstances, weekends and extended hours may be necessary.
Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a portion of 16-inch sanitary sewer main line located at Lenox Avenue and Cherokee Street. Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction occurred in the City’s streets, rights of way and easements. A by-pass line was installed and ran continuously until the repair to the sewer line has been completed. This line was necessary to keep the sewage flowing through our system.
For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily close the intersection of Lenox Avenue and Cherokee Street while this work was being completed.
Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer line has been repaired, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be restored.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
