Lewis Street Emergency Sewer Repair Project

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. NOTE: In some circumstances, weekends and extended hours may be necessary.
Project Objective
JEA crews completed repairs to a failing sanitary sewer main on Lewis Street between Copeland Street and Claude Street. Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups and roadway issues.
This work required the removal of ground water with pump systems prior to construction. These pump systems operated continuously during the repairs.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, JEA will be required to temporarily close Lewis Street between Copeland Street and Claude Street while this work is completed.
Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the JEA crews working on site and plan ahead for anticipated traffic delays. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer main has been repaired, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
