Project Objective

JEA crews will be replacing a section of failing sanitary sewer main located at approximately 1444 Louisiana Street. This work will require the removal of ground water with a pump system prior to any pipe installation and the closure of Louisiana Street.

Road Closure Information

To complete this work, JEA will be required to close Louisiana Street from approximately 1444 Louisiana Street to Darnell Cookman Middle/High School to thru traffic while construction is in progress. A detour through the Darnell Cookman property will be available during this closure. These closures are necessary for both the safety of the workers and the general public.

Residents or businesses that reside within the project boundaries will be provided access and are permitted to drive (with caution) within the construction area. There will be limited access to the areas around the immediate construction area. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the JEA crews working onsite. We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work.

Restoration of Project Area

Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer main has been installed and the dewatering system removed. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
