Roads Affected
Project Objective
JEA has completed the first phase of the potable well installation project on the JEA property located at the corner of Phelps Street and A. Philip Randolph Boulevard. We are now in the process of installing the pipe required to connect the new well to the JEA potable water system. This well is needed to replace other local wells that have reached the end of their service lives.
Once in operation, this well will be one of over 122 active wells that are part of a larger JEA regional water supply transmission system. This new well will improve our systems overall water pressure, reliability and continue to provide a robust water supply system throughout JEA’s service territory.
Conditions During Construction
Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights of way and easements. Phelps Street from A Phillip Randolph Boulevard to Palmetto Street will be temporarily closed to thru traffic (please see the detour map on the reverse side of this notification). Detour signs and barricades will be set-up to guide drivers around the construction area.
Residents that reside within the project boundary will be permitted to drive (with caution) through the project boundary. Please plan ahead for traffic delays. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
