Project Objective
JEA crews replaced and upgraded a portion of sanitary sewer line on Gilmore Street between Goodwin Street and Margaret Street. This was the first phase of a larger 3-phase project in the area. Following the work on Gilmore Street, crews moved and replaced and upgraded portions of sewer main on Margaret Street between Gilmore Street and Dellwood Avenue, Ernest Street between Goodwin Street and Margaret Street, Goodwin Street between Ernest Street and Dellwood Avenue and Dellwood Avenue between Goodwin Street and Margaret Street. These sections of sewer line had reached the end of their useful service lives and were proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves the area. Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads, and easements.
