McMillan Pump Station Improvement Project

Project Objective

The JEA project is to improve and upgrade our sewer pump station located at 2304 McMillan Street has been completed. This station is responsible for pumping approximately 13 million gallons of sewage per day from the area which is treated at JEA’s Buckman Wastewater Treatment Facility.

Due to the age of this station (originally built by the City of Jacksonville in 1958) some of the equipment had reached the end of its useful service life and had to be rehabilitated or replaced to keep the facility reliable and structurally sound.

Project Update - June 2019

JEA has completed this project. In addition to replacing all the pumps, electrical equipment and repairing parts of the building structure, we have installed a new odor control system which utilizes the latest in odor reducing technologies.

The upgraded station will be more reliable and the odor issues that were previously a nuisance around the station will be greatly reduced.
