N Liberty Street and E 4th Street Sewer Improvement Project

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.*

Note: In some circumstances, extended work hours and weekends may be required. 

JEA crews replaced a failing sanitary sewer line on N. Liberty Street between E. 4^th Street and E. 5^th Street. This work was necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves the area.  For the safety of our crews, this work will required the removal of ground water with pump systems prior to any excavation. Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues. 

Construction occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily close Liberty Street North between E. 3^rd Street and E. 5^th Street and E. 4^th Street between N. Market Street and Walnut Street during construction. Residents had access to their homes and motorists were permitted to drive (with caution) within work area (please see work area maps below). Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the crews working on-site. Please see the work area map below. 

This work did not impact JEA electric, water and/or sewer service.
