North Pearl Street Sewer Improvement Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2019-06-23
Regular work hours are daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. NOTE: In some circumstances, extended hours may be necessary.
Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA (IPR) replaced a portion of failing sanitary sewer main line near 1217 N. Pearl Street at the intersection of N. Pearl Street and 1st Street. Once completed, this project will increase the reliability of the sewer system and help prevent future sewer main breaks.
This sewer installation was completed using the pipebursting method of construction. This method is less disruptive to neighborhoods than the traditional open-cut method of replacing sewer lines and the overall project duration is typically shorter.
Learn more about the pipebursting process.
Construction Conditions
Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights of way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, temporary lane closures will be required along N. Pearl Street while pipe is being installed. See the work area and detour map below.
Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the JEA crews working on site. We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work.
Restoration of the Work Area and Paving
Restoration of the project area will begin once the lines have been installed, tested and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
