Orchard Street Emergency Sewer Improvement Project

This project has been completed. Below is the information provided to customers prior to the project start date.

Start and completion dates are subject to change. Completion date does not include final restoration of the project area. 

JEA crews will be replacing a 170-foot portion of a failing sanitary sewer line from 2515 Orchard Street to McDuff Avenue North. Failures to sewer main lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups and roadway issues. 

Conditions During Construction 

Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the JEA crews working onsite. We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work. 

Detour Route 

Traffic traveling north on McDuff Avenue will turn left Broadway Avenue, right on Superior Street, then right on Orchard Street. Traffic traveling south on McDuff Ave will turn right on Lowell Avenue, left on Superior Street, then left back to Orchard Street. 

Restoration of Project Area 

Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer main has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or side-walks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
