*NOTE: In some circumstances, evening and weekend work hours may be required. JEA crews will not work on City of Jacksonville holidays (5/25/20 & 7/3/20)
Project Objective
JEA crews upgraded and replaced portions of the potable water main on Payne Avenue and 11th Street West. This work also included the installation of one (1) new fire hydrant. Once completed, this project will increase water pressure and provide improved system reliability and fire protection.
Construction Conditions
Construction occurred in the City of Jacksonville streets, rights of way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, temporary lane closures were required along Payne Avenue and 11th Street West while the new water main was being installed. Please see the project area map below.
Residents who reside within the project boundaries were provided access to their homes and were permitted to drive (with caution) within the construction area. There were times when residents may have limited access while the crews are working directly in front of homes.

Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin once the new water main has been installed, tested and cleared for use and the individual service connections have been made. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
