Project Objective

JEA crews replaced a failing sanitary sewer manhole near 4325 Post Street. This work was necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves this neighborhood. Failures to sewer manholes can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.

Construction Conditions

Construction occurred in the City of Jacksonville rights-of-ways and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, we will be required to temporarily close and detour a portion of Post Street between Dancy Street and Wolfe Street to complete this work. Please see the detour map below.

Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the crews working on-site. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by this construction work.

Restoration of the Project Area

Restoration of the project area will take place typically 2-3 weeks after the sewer work has been completed, and the manhole has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their pre-construction condition.
