Project Objective

As part of the Galvanized Pipe Replacement Program to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, JEA crews will soon begin a project to replace and upgrade portions of the water line on Prospect Street from Broadway Avenue to the dead end of Prospect Street. When completed, this project will provide increased water pressure, enhanced fire protection and improved system reliability

Construction Areas

Construction will primarily occur in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements.

Construction Conditions

For the safety of our crews and the public, JEA will be required to close and detour traffic around the work area while this project is completed. Please see the work area map below.

Residents, businesses and business patrons will have access and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area. There will be times when driveway access is limited while crews are working directly in front of homes and businesses. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by this construction work.

This project is not expected to impact your normal JEA electric, water or sewer service.

Restoration of the Project Area

Restoration of the project area will begin soon after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
