Project Objective

JEA and contractor (JB Coxwell) crews will be making emergency repairs to a failing sanitary sewer manhole near 12321 Pulaski Road. This work is necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves your neighborhood. Failures to sewer manholes can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.

For the safety of our crews, dewatering pumps to remove ground water may be required prior to excavation. These pump systems will operate continually throughout the project. JEA will also be required to install a temporary, above ground sewer by-pass piping system to divert the sewage to a nearby manhole while the work is completed.

Construction Conditions

For the safety of our crews and the general public, we will be required to temporarily close and detour traffic on Pulaski Road between Fields Road and Naomi Drive (March 29th and 30th) so that temporary traffic lanes can be installed on Pulaski Road to complete repairs. This detour may need to be utilized intermittently throughout construction. Please see the project area map and detour below.

Residents will be provided access, and permitted to drive (with caution) within the work area. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.

This work will not impact your normal JEA electric, water or sewer service.

Restoration of Project Area

Restoration of the project area typically begins soon after the sewer manhole has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their pre-construction condition.
