Anticipated End Date: 2016-12-30

This project has been completed. Below is the information provided to customers prior to the project start date.

Roads Affected

Avent Drive, Birmingham Avenue, Collins Road, Roosevelt Boulevard

Project Objective

JEA will be installing approximately 10,400 linear feet of 16-inch water main along Roosevelt Boulevard from just north of Birmingham Avenue to Collins Road. Along this same route, JEA will extend a new water main across Roosevelt Boulevard that will connect to an existing 12-inch water main at Avent Drive.

By doing this, JEA will create a looped water system that will serve the existing residential neighborhoods on the west side of Roosevelt Boulevard and Collins Road. As part of the project, JEA will also be able to provide a water connection point that will help serve Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville in the near future. When completed, this project will increase area water pressure, and provide better overall water system reliability.

Construction Conditions

Construction will be completed in the Florida Department of Transportation and City of Jacksonville’s rights of way and easements along Roosevelt Boulevard and Avent Drive. This construction will not impact traffic along Roosevelt Boulevard.

Restoration of Project Area

Restoration of the project area will begin once the water lines are installed and have been tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
