Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2014-05-31
Roads Affected
Project Objective
JEA crews will be relocating a portion of the existing water mains along Roosevelt Boulevard (US 17) from Woodmere Street to San Juan Avenue. These pipes are being replaced and relocated in preparation for the upcoming Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) drainage and road improvements. The Florida Department of Transportation drainage improvement project is anticipated to begin in August 2014 and estimated to be completed by March 2015.
The majority of the construction will occur at the intersections of Roosevelt Boulevard (US 17) and Shirley Avenue, Marquette Avenue, Irvington Avenue, Melrose Avenue, and Woodmere Street. These are the locations of the drainage structures that will be replaced during the FDOT project. JEA has been asked by the FDOT to relocate these water lines to accommodate the new drainage structures.
Construction Conditions
Construction will primarily occur in the City of Jacksonville and Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) rights of way, roads and easements. There will be times when roads and intersections will have limited access while the water main is installed but the flow of traffic will be maintained.
Sections of driveways may need to be removed and replaced to install the pipe. Residents and businesses affected will be notified in advance by crews to allow for removal of vehicles prior to driveway construction.
Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the JEA crews working onsite. We apologize in advance for any traffic delays caused by this work.
