Project Objective

This work will include the replacement of the existing sanitary sewer main and upgrading the potable water mains in your area. When completed, this project will increase area water pressure, provide better system reliability and increase fire protection.

Construction Areas

JEA will be replacing the water and sanitary sewer mains on Sandlin Street (from 2959 to 2930), San Diego Road (from 2206 to 2302) and San Diego Plaza (from 2830 to 2860).

Construction Conditions

Construction will be primarily occur in the City of Jacksonville rights of way, roads and easements. There will be times when roads will have limited access while the mains are installed but the flow of traffic will be maintained by the contractor. Sections of driveways will be removed and replaced to install the pipe. Residents affected will be notified in advance by crews to allow for removal of vehicles prior to driveway construction.

Water Outages and Restoration of Project Area

Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers 48 hours prior to any planned outages. Residents that reside along the construction route my also experience
a brief (10 to 15 minutes) outage while crews transfer your home from the old water service to the new water service.

Restoration of the project area will begin after the new water main and force main have been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
