Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2021-08-20
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*
*In some circumstances, weekends and extended hours may be required.
Project Objective
JEA crews repaired a portion of failing sanitary sewer line near 791 Shipwatch Drive East. Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues. This project will increase the reliability of the sewer system and help prevent future sewer main breaks.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily detour traffic at the intersection of Shipwatch Drive East and Hope Sound Court while this work was being completed. Residents were provided access and were permitted to drive (with caution) through the construction area via a temporary roadway (please see below map).
Construction occurred in the City’s streets, rights of way and easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area began after the new sewer line has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction are returned pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
