Summer Breeze Drive North Emergency Sewer Improvement Project

Estimated Dates & Work Schedule

Anticipated Start Date: 2017-02-23
Anticipated End Date: 2017-04-07

This project has been completed. Below is the information provided to customers prior to the project start date.

Project Objective

JEA crews will be replacing a portion of a failing sanitary sewer line and manhole on Summer Breeze Drive North near the JEA sewer pump station located at 581 Summer Breeze North.

Project Update - March 28,2017

Due to unforeseen conditions the project completion date has been extended to April 7, 2017. Restoration of the project area will begin once the pipes have been tested and cleared for use.

Due to the depth of the failing manhole (20' deep) we are unable to utilize normal trenching methods. Therefore, a contractor will be delivering materials necessary to create a deep box trench. The deep box trench must be constructed before JEA crews can safely perform the necessary repairs to the manhole.  Once crews are able to work around the manhole, we will work as quickly and safely as possible to complete the repairs.

Construction Conditions

Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, Summer Breeze Drive North will be closed to thru traffic during construction. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the JEA crews working onsite. We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work.

Detour Route

Traffic east of construction on Summer Breeze Drive North will travel east then turn right on Summer Breeze Drive East and then turn right on Bradley Cove Road. Traffic west of construction will travel west on Summer Breeze Drive North then turn left on Summer Breeze Drive to Duval Station Road.

Restoration of Project Area

Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer main has been installed and the dewatering system removed. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
