Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2021-02-12
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*
*NOTE: In some circumstances, weekends and extended hours may be required.
Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a portion of failing sanitary sewer main line near 917 Townsend Boulevard. This repair was necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves the area. Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, harm to the environment and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily close and detour a portion of Townsend Boulevard near Carlotta Road South and Carlotta Road West to complete the repairs. Please see the project area and detour map below.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will typically take place 2-3 week after the sewer line has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
