Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2024-11-30

*In some circumstances, extended hours and weekends may be required. JEA crews will not work on holidays (7/4, 9/2, 11/11, 11/28, 11/29).
Project Objective
As part of the Galvanized Pipe Replacement Program to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, JEA crews will soon be working in your area to replace and upgrade a portion of the water line on W. 16th Street from Flanders Street to the western dead end of W. 16th Street.
These pipes are approaching the end of their useful service lives and are being proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area. When completed, this project will provide increased water pressure, enhanced fire protection and improved system reliability.
Construction Areas
Construction will primarily occur in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, there will be times when roads will be temporarily closed to thru traffic while crews are installing the new water lines. Please see the work area map below.
esidents, businesses and business patrons will have access and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area. There will be times when driveway access is limited while crews are working directly in front of homes and businesses. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by this construction work.
Planned Water Outages
Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48-hours prior to any planned water outages.
