*In some circumstances, evening hours and weekends may be required. JEA crews will not be working on JEA holidays.
Project Objective
JEA crews upgraded and replaced the existing water main on Shadow Street, Sunset Street and Mecasin Drive between West Palm Avenue and N. Edgewood Avenue. JEA also replaced the sewer line located in the rear of the commercial building located at 1415 N. Edgewood Avenue.
These sections of water and sewer pipes had approached the end of their useful service lives and were proactively replaced to ensure the continued reliability of the JEA water and sewer system in the area.
This project also included the installation of two (2) new fire hydrants. This project will provide increased water pressure, enhanced fire protection and improved system reliability.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads, and easements.
Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
