Wilderland Drive Emergency Sewer Manhole Replacement Project

Project Objective
JEA crews made emergency repairs to a failing sanitary sewer manhole located on Wilderland Drive at the intersection of Misty Mountain Drive South. This manhole had to be repaired to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves the neighborhood. Failures to sewer manholes can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, JEA crews were required to temporarily close and detour traffic on Wilderland Drive between Girvin Road and Misty Mountain Drive South while this work was completed. Residents were provided access and were permitted to drive (with caution) through the work area. Please see the work area and detour map below.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the new sewer man hole has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
