Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA (IPR) replaced portions of failing sanitary sewer main line on Winchester Drive, between Bradford Road and Somersby Road. These lines were proactively rehabilitated to ensure continued reliability of the sewer system that serves the neighborhood. Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
This sewer installation was completed using the pipe bursting method of construction. This method is less disruptive to neighborhoods than the traditional open-cut method of replacing sewer lines and the overall project duration is typically shorter.

Construction Conditions
Construction will primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and utility easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins within 2-3 weeks after the lines have been installed, tested and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their pre-construction condition.
