Woodmere Drive Emergency Sewer Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2017-05-25
Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Start and completion dates are highly subject to change and in some circumstances weekend and extended hours may be necessary. Completion date does not include final restoration of the project area.
Project Objective
JEA crews will be repairing a portion of a failing 6-inch sewer line near 1683 Woodmere Drive. Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups and roadway issues.
Because this sewer line is very deep, this work will require the removal of ground water with a pump system prior to the pipe repair. JEA crews will be working as quickly and safely as possible to make the necessary repairs.
Conditions During Construction
Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, Woodmere Drive will be closed to thru traffic during construction. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the JEA crews working on-site. We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work.
Detour Route
Traffic heading south on Woodmere Drive will turn right on Mayview Road, left on Dogwood Place, then left on Oleander Place back to Woodmere Drive. Traffic heading north on Woodmere Drive will turn left on Oleander Place, right on Dogwood Place, then right on Mayview Road back to Woodmere Drive.
Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer line has been re-paired. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
